LISA SONG SMAG’s MISS APRIL-MAY JUNE 2016 AMAZING GAL OF THE MONTH
On the coattails of the worldwide release of our magazine’s 2016 Top 100 Sexiest Women on March 28, highlighting of course our official 2016 Sexiest Woman Alive, Miss Emma Roberts, it is also that time of year where we spotlight one particularly prodigious lady to be our feature Amazing Gal of the Month for 2016 as well– and trust us, it may be April 1, but Miss April-May June is certainly no April Fool.
You may recall Lisa Song Sutton from being named our August 2014 Amazing Gal of the Month, or on any one of her several appearances on Smartasses Radio. But most likely, your brain harkens back to more recent history when this expert of entrepreneurship was named our #88 Sexiest Woman Alive of 2016- or possibly #58 in 2015. Six o’ one, half a dozen of the other. The point is, this chic Seoul born former Miss Nevada United States deserves a dazzling pedestal beneath her impeccably polished heels, and we’re here to provide it for her.
In the event you’re not aware, it is true that this host of Live With Lisa has done some modeling in her day. But in addition to that, and her endeavors in beauty-pageantry, Miss Song has also worked as the vice president of human resources at a top law firm, is a managing partner of Elite Homes US with Synergy Sotheby’s International Realty, holds ownership interests in the Las Vegas luxury alcohol-infused cupcake company Sin City Cupcakes as well as the luxury swimwear distributor Liquid & Lace: Bikinis For A Cause, and is also a regular contributing author for Forbes and Business Insider, writing about entrepreneurship, women in business, and other topics surrounding her experiences as the leader of an extensive portfolio of nationally-acclaimed brands. Plus, as we alluded to above, this persuading Pisces recently began hosting her own television show designed around business tips, community advocacy, and empowering aspiring entrepreneurs. If that isn’t already more than most people do in a lifetime, Lisa also volunteers with several charities and serves on the board of the Fundamental Elements Foundation, which assists in empowering women during their time of need.
Smartasses: So what’s the craziest job you’ve ever done with Sin City Cupcakes?
Lisa: We catered a golf tournament for (insert name of a popular men’s magazine that features bunnies here) Golf outing and things got pretty wild!
Smartasses: So you have a new TV show? Tell us about Live With Lisa?
Lisa: I am so excited about Live With Lisa! It is a business driven television talk show that focuses on entrepreneurship and offers business tips to people in every stage of business. You can check it out on Cox cable channel 96/1096HD on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 6:30pm PST and our social media at @LiveWithLisaTV.
Smartasses: Awesome, so please tell us about the Fundamental Elements Foundation.
Lisa: The Fundamental Elements Foundation is a local organization that empowers women through face to face community care. It works with local charitable partners to assist women during their time of need and promote public service and higher education.
Smartasses: So if you were teaching a class on female empowerment to a group of fourteen year old girls, who are already chock full of ‘tude at that age, how would you teach them to embrace that attitude, without encouraging them to be complete pompous crabapples? (NotThatTheresAnythingWrongWithThat)
Lisa: At fourteen especially, young girls are at a point in their lives where they are developing who they are and what they want to become. I would tell them to take note of the things they are good at (reading, writing, drawing, math, science?) and then also take note of what they like… as generally they are one in the same– and realize that you can further hone and develop your skills to turn what you like and what you’re good at into a pathway that can make you money.
Smartasses: You seem to balance a high level of class, even when you’re drawing lines in the sand. So how do you handle it if a boy calls you “Honey”, wolf-whistles or God-forbid, slaps you on the behind?
Lisa: I’m not a person who is easily offended. Coming from the modeling world I can appreciate when others appreciate aesthetics. However, unwanted touching is never acceptable in any circumstance whatsoever. Thankfully I have never been in a situation of physical harassment or worse, but let’s just make it clear that this girl was raised in Arizona– an open carry state, ha ha!
Smartasses: What’s been your most recent charity endeavor? Anything exciting from Liquid & Lace?
Lisa: Just this morning I helped co-host a 5K walk/run to benefit The Shade Tree which is a local Las Vegas charity organization that provides a safe place for women, children and their pets to escape abuse. I volunteer my time nearly every week for various worthwhile causes around the city. As far as L&L, I am so excited for the Liquid & Lace Summer 2016 Fashion Show which will be April 15th at the Tropicana!
Smartasses: Nice. So have you written any new articles for Forbes lately?
Lisa: Yes! My most recent Forbes article is called 5 Ways To Be a Fearless Leader.

1 – What was your funniest moment in life? Hmm…one of the funniest moments I can remember… I was maybe fourteen or fifteen and as most teen girls and their moms do, I got into an argument with my Mom. We were both in the car, driving on the highway, and not speaking. As we were driving, a massive line of grasshoppers suddenly flew right into the windshield. It was so surprising and the splats were so loud we were both stunned, and then both just started cracking up, laughing hysterically.

3 – What is the one thing you’re most proud of doing for someone else? I’m glad that I could serve as a role model to young ladies around Nevada during my time as Miss Las Vegas and Miss Nevada.
