History of Smartasses Magazine
Hard to believe, what is now arguably the most anticipated St. Patrick’s Day tradition around the globe, started out as a competition in a small bar between two dudes claiming to have the best comprised list of the 100 most come hither women. By 2005, those two smartasses started offering an armada of Free Sarcastic Ecards on the web. The cards begat equally-as-cynical articles, the first official Top 100 was launched to the public the following March, and voila, in 2006, Smartasses Magazine was born. Here we are now, over a decade later, with a presence on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Tumblr, and not only one of the longest running Top 100 compendiums in the entire world, but with the premiere list in Southeast Asia.
Dry Humor, Geek Culture & Amazing Women – If you can imagine Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey having a love-child with The Onion, and then having David Letterman as a godparent and Jerry Seinfeld as an uncle… you can begin to grasp where the crux of our satire comes from. Plus, we’re nerds- Game of Thrones, Comic Books, Sci Fi, we’re all over it.
Entertainment & Lifestyle for Women and boys. We also hate to break it to you, but (okay, we actually enjoy breaking this to you) despite how things may appear due to our annual Top 100 Sexiest Women Alive, as our mantra illustrates, we are not a “Men’s Magazine” and we most certainly do not objectify women. We worship them. In fact, as of mid 2012, our prime directive regarding the women we feature on our webzine has consciously been “Never Objectify, Always Edify”. Which is a great way of saying that, in the end, it’s all about which women make the best role models for female empowerment– gals who exemplify getting what they want, when they want… and how they want.
Plus, not only do our hundreds of Celebrity News articles feature only female celebs, but we also host in-depth bios on all the women we spotlight. In fact, we’ve inspected over 4,000 celebrity social networking sites for each and every gal, to ensure we not only provide you with accurate history and up to the minute news on your favorites, but also furnish you with only one-hundred-percent verified social networking links, for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and more.
Thinking of advertising with Smartasses Magazine? With over 400 syndicated articles published daily across several media outlets, it means we can boast extensive, up to the minute, entertaining coverage that is literally world wide. With that in mind, take one look at our demographics and you’ll see why advertising with us may just be the right choice for you.
SMAG also feeds the conversations through it’s mammoth network of websites, with entertaining articles, a popular line of free sarcastic eCards, and in addition to our popular celebrity news site, we also bring you up to the minute news on TNA, the WWE, Ring of Honor and the LFL. As well, as of February 2013, after partnering with several other international weekly radio shows as part of the Smart Mark Radio Network, our website is also home for one of the most highly touted comedy & celebrity interview podcasts on the net today– the award winning Smartasses Radio™.

* Our weekly Smartasses Radio™ podcast sees anywhere between 1,000 and 100,000 listeners per week, depending on the guest(s). Commercials on our weekly podcast can be purchased for as low as $5 a month or longer.
Gender: 51% Male 49% Female audience. Target Ages: 53% 18-24, 35% 25-34
In addition to all of the aforementioned above, with our diverse line of services and products, such as our Official DC & Marvel Featured Products, Smartasses Signature Line, a Top 100 list which features ladies of the entire world (not just those from countries where English is the first language), SMAG reaches literally every corner of, and every interest on the globe.
Year Round Results
There’s no question that we see our highest amount of traffic between March and June, where we see upwards of 20,000 hits per day. But when that wears off, with our free Sarcastic eCard line designed for every holiday and diversified market laid out above, we see high traffic all year around.
Our rates are typically in line with, or better than the competition, though we can’t speak for everyone. In the days where Facebook advertising and Google algorithms are more confusing than ever, we may be the simple, result-yielding solution you are looking for.
SMAG is always looking for fresh new faces for our Amazing Gal of the Month column, and seeing as how we spotted Megan Fox before she became MEGAN FOX, we think we’re pretty good at finding ’em. If you think you have what it takes to be featured in our magazine, send us your photos for a shot at being considered.
If it fits our mantra, we will optimistically entertain freelance article submissions. Likewise, sponsored articles for publication will also be considered. Use the contact form below.
